It all started in this house in 1947.

In 1947, Carl and Julia Carlson forever changed the horizon of the Fastening and Packaging industries. With nothing more than a $350 cash investment, a used file cabinet, and their own enthusiasm, Carlson Stapler and Supply was born. Over 60 years since those humble beginnings, the former Carlson Stapler and Supply has grown into a corporation employing over 500 people - CARLSON HOLDINGS, INC. The familiar “CSS” logo has been retained to symbolize Carlson Companies’ strategy of providing service and support to our customers.

Carlson Systems, LLC focuses on fastening, packaging, and product assembly systems, with offices and warehouses that serve thousands of customers. A network of problem solvers, we provide ideas and solutions in both the products we sell and the methods we advocate. We assist businesses to produce better products and improve productivity, as well as help them automate production and packaging lines.

With locations throughout an area primarily west of the Mississippi, our people and products are always close to our customers. All of our locations are networked together, allowing us to find whatever product a customer may desire. As a pioneering company and industry leader, we handle the premier product lines in fastening, packaging and product assembly—offering our customers the highest quality, supported by our network of repair service departments.

The Carlson Systems Engineering, LLC division has custom designed and built hundreds of product assembly machines primarily for the cabinet, furniture, millwork and storm door industries. Our machines are customized product assembly machines with the latest technology and varying degrees of automation. The systems can be relatively simple to highly complex multi-task production systems, depending on the needs of the customer.

Carlson Holdings, Inc. is an extremely diversified company that offers the highest quality in both service and supplies. From that initial location in 1947, Carlson has grown exponentially. And with a solid force of over 600 employees, we are set to continue growing to serve our customers better.

Mid-Atlantic Fasteners is a distribution company committed to providing customers with quality products and services primarily for the fastening and packaging industries. Mid-Atlantic Fasteners was founded in 1948 and has 23 Sales Offices and Distribution Centers located in Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia, with its corporate offices located in Jessup, Maryland.
